camping gear

My kids are finally at an age where taking them camping wouldn't be a horrific experience for both them and I.  In fact, the kids even said they were looking forward to a weekend out in the woods with their parents. 

Being the experienced camper that I am, I knew that bringing along the right camping gear would be essential for having an enjoyable trip.  There is nothing worse than getting out to the middle of nowhere and realizing that you forgot something.  Before the trip I made a list of all of the camping gear we would be needing on the trip. I made sure to go over the list a few times as I was packing everything to make sure that I brought all the things we would need.  We headed up to one of my favorite spots and quickly made camp.  We got a fire going and dinner cooking before dark.  Everyone was having a blast!

The kids really enjoyed their first camping experience.  They are already asking me to take them again, which I most definitely will be doing.  I really believe that having the right camping gear along on the trip made for an awesome experience!
